My laptop just suffered a hard drive crash. I guess it’s the computer gods exacting vengeance on an IT person such as myself.
I’m still in the process of getting the data off my old hard drive (easier said than done). Fortunately, I didn’t have to worry about my APBA stats. I kept them online on Dropbox. Once I got my system back online I just installed the client, logged in and my files started syncing back to my new hard drive… including my APBA stats. I’m watching it sync up as I write this.
Note: I don’t own stock in Dropbox nor did I get paid to endorse their product. I just like their service. There are other similar services such as Box.com, Microsoft Skydrive, and Google Drive that provide the same service. All are free for a basic plan if you’re willing to your data in the hands of strangers.
The point is this: don’t trust your hard work of months of replay or league’s stats to your local hard drive that’s itching to go south. Back it up or even better sync it up a Cloud-based service.
