OneforFive’s Paul Dylan found himself a deal on Ebay

apba-collectionPaul Dylan from oneforfive.com seems to have gotten a pretty good deal on Ebay for twelve APBA baseball season sets.  Though the asking price was originally higher, it came down to $65 and as Paul says, “I couldn’t say no”.

Good call.

One of the most asked questions I get is regarding the selling or buying of used card sets.  Sadly, some these questions come from APBA wives whose husbands have passed on and they are just looking for ways to unload their spouse’s collection to someone who can enjoy them.  I did a write-up a while back as a quick answer for those inquiring and Ebay is certainly a key component of that solution.

There is a caveat to that and for those familiar with Ebay/APBA ecosystem are all too familiar with this: There are dealers who will buy up APBA card sets and will break them up and sell teams and even cards individually.    Most of you who are familiar with APBA will spot this but it’s worth mentioning.

As for Paul, it looks like he got himself a nice deal.  His package includes sets from a wide range of years:

I’ve identified the APBA “12? result on numbers: 43 (1952R), 53 (1975), 56 (1976), 52 (1977), 32 (1982), 43 (1983), 42 (1985), 54 (1989), 56 (1941), 24 (1992), 46 (1993), 36 (1994).

I think the 1941, 1952, 1992 and 1993 sets must be pretty much complete, if not 100%. This is just my initial impression, as I haven’t even opened every one of the envelopes yet.

Have fun Paul!!  Sounds like you’ve got some replaying to do!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as the BBW Boys of Summer APBA League since 2014. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
