What happened to the first half?

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, I was able to squeeze in a nine game series for our Illowa APBA League against Marcus Bunch and his Moline Upperdeckers.  I won five of the nine games.  It was a hard fought series as five of the games were one-run games.

I’ve been on a undefeated streak lately in our league.  You see, I haven’t lost a series since June (we play 6 and 9-game series).

With all of that, I have JUST NOW moved out of last place and moved into ninth place in the IAL.  Whether I stay there is questionable… I’m clinging there by just a game.  This is what happens your team starts out the season with a 17-52 record.

Other news from the Upperdecker series… Albert Pujols hit two home runs for the series.  That gives him 300 IAL career home runs.  If he hits three more in the remaining 18 games, he’ll hit 40 for the year which will give him 40+ home runs for all seven years he’s been in our league.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as the BBW Boys of Summer APBA League since 2014. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
