APBA has just made available for download the 2011-2012 NHL Finalist Teams and rosters for the APBA Hockey Game.
This “pre-play” feature is similar to their effort they did last month when they made available the UEFA soccer championship teams so conceivably, you could play the championship game before it actually happened.

Straw poll here… how many of you like this “pre-play feature”? Of course, free is never a bad thing but how many of you (especially those of you who play hockey and soccer) are taking advantage of this?
I haven’t played the hockey game since 1994, but my sons and I got a lot of use out of the UEFA set that came out last month. It rekindled my interest in APBA Soccer enough that I ordered the MLS 2011 set.
Pizza Box Football has released the Superbowl teams for the last four years. Folks post their results in the forums at BoardGameGeek, and so far the fans’ outcomes have correctly predicted the winner each year. I’d love to see APBA make a habit of this in the same way.
The pre-play release is awesome. I don’t know anything about hockey, nor do I have the game, but if I did I would definitely be using these cards.
I wonder if APBA will do the same with the 2012 World Series baseball teams? I’m sure that would make a LOT of people happy.
What, exactly, IS Pre-Play?
And a question about the Hockey game; is it a really good solitaire game (like baseball and soccer)?
And, concerning soccer/football, where – like on the internet with Baseball-reference.com – can one get detailed statistics – like one gets for baseball – for such as the EPL, et al.? Thanx
