There seems to be an issue with the AIM settings with the new APBA Baseball 5.75 release. APBA CEO John Herson passed this on to me to post.
AIM Settings corrections
The 19th, early 20th, and mid 20th have their wires crossed so the games assigns the wrong AIM settings to the pitchers which pretty much screws up replays.

I’m just starting to explore APBA Baseball 5.75 today. As a lifetime dice player who hasn’t played computer APBA since the DOS days, it’s a bit daunting. I don’t have the Of course, I’m the kind of person who wants to try everything right away. League Manager, Advanced Draft, the whole shebang. My best course of action would probably be to load two teams and play a single game and go from there.
Fortunately, APBA did include some pdf help documents in the install including a tutorial. I’ll be referring to that one soon, I’m sure.
Tom – I know you are a steadfast APBA devotee, but I think you might find that Diamond Mind is what you’re looking for. Not only is it the most statistically accurate of all the games I’ve played (with a great play-by-play library, to boot!), but it is SO intuitive and easy to get going right out of the box.
I’ve done Strat PC Baseball. Out of the Park. Action. And I am amazed at how steep the learning curve all of them are.
P.S. I love Strat in cards & dice, although it has it’s limitations, so this isn’t a knock on companies that are from that background.
Maybe you’ll figure out APBA soon enough. Hopefully so. I’m just saying that of the 4 text-based baseball sims I’ve put a decent amount of time into, only one of them has had the whole package. Just wish they’d give out free trials of their game so they could try to make a convert out of somebody like yourself! ;-)
Replay Baseball is the best PC baseball game I’ve ever played. True port from the cards and dice game. I played BBW for YEARS and tried both Diamond Mind and Strat. Plus, they have a trial version. replaybb.com

Thanks Steve. I actually just placed an order for Replay (C&D) Tuesday afternoon, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out. I’ve seen enough positive things about it that I felt like I should give it a shot.
But you preferred BBW over DMB? Really? To each their own, I guess.
BTW, Dynasty League’s online port of their game is pretty slick as well, though I can’t justify ponying up a monthly fee. I prefer a flat fee and being able to play offline if I’d like. It’s well done, but expensive.
I played BBW for a long time (even going back to the DOS version). I tried DMB but I probably didn’t give it enough of a chance to be honest. I know it’s good. Strat…very clunky. And the rules included were from like version 10 and I had 15…so a lot of options didn’t match up. Turned me off the game.
