January 2015 news tidbits from APBA

logoSome news of interest came via the APBA Newsletter in this first week of the year.  Of biggest importance, the 2014 baseball cards are shipping.  I know a lot of you have already gotten them.  For those who haven’t, the APBA Company says to watch your credit card account.  They will only charge your account within 48 hours of shipping your cards to you.

“We will process and ship invoices in the order they were received, starting with those orders from December 1st. At the close of business each day, we will update our phone message to note which orders have been processed and shipped. We also recommend watching your credit card account: we will ship your order within 48 hours of charging your card. “

Above all, be patient.

In other news, APBA is making some changes to its online store particular with its Hockey and Golf stores.  The Company is not making any changes to the available products though the appearance and product numbers may be a bit different.

“We are in the process of cleaning up our Yahoo! online store. As of today, we have updated the Golf and Hockey sections of the website. We have not added or made changes to any products, even though the product name or code may have changed. We will be updating the soccer and football sections through the week, and will tackle the baseball section of the website after we have completed shipment of the 2014 baseball card sets. “

For those who play APBA Baseball for Windows 5.75, APBA has released Update 16 for the game.  This patch will fix some minor bugs in League Manager and some display issues in Advanced Draft.

You can download Update 16 from APBA.  Here are the full details of the update.  By the way, if you’re hoping it will fix the windows resizing problem in AD, sadly, it doesn’t.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as the BBW Boys of Summer APBA League since 2014. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
