Fennessy Cup continues with first round in South Bracket

Jesse_Tannehill_baseball_card1901 Cleveland Indians vs. 1905 White Sox I had low expectations on this as the tribe is one of the worst teams ever and while the score was close the Sox dominated from start to finish. Earl Moore gave up a 3 run homer to Danny Green and they never looked back.

1901 Brooklyn Dodgers vs. 1901 Pirates The Dodgers stunned me as a very close game that was not decided until the 9th inning when Jesse Tannehill got a bit tired and wild, hitting two batters and an error broke their backs in a 4-2 win for the Dodgers.

1905 Boston Braves vs. 1901 Boston Red Sox Besides the inter-city rivalry this was a match up I was excited for once the bracket filled out. Irv Young against Cy Young. Both pitchers delivered the goods but the Braves FINALLY help Irv out and they win a nail biter 2-0 and advance.

1901 Washington Senators vs. 1905 Chicago Cubs I figured the Cubs would mash the Sens, but they honestly were lucky to escape this one. Their vaunted defense committed 6 errors and allowed enough hits to have the Cubs on the ropes until a 7th inning rally saved the day. Billy Maloney stuns Wyatt Lee with a leadoff homer.
