Since 1983, I’ve enjoyed APBA Baseball. I’m a high school history teacher from Michigan, who enjoys regional APBA tournaments, APBA GO, and BBW. Besides contributing to the APBA Blog, I also co-host the Double Take Podcast with my brother Kevin Weber. I'm also a member of the BBW League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and a SABR member.

4 Comments:

  1. Listened today, was a great advertisement for the soccer game. Love the podcasts, thanks for doing them.

  2. Finished listening on my drive to work. If anyone has contact information for John Cochran, I would love to shoot him an e-mail. I played soccer at a high level and have just started getting into the APBA Soccer game.

  3. I will never forget John and Rebecca trucking themselves all the way to Canton for our August 2013 football-only convention. I’d asked if he would present a demo of the soccer game (this is before they started doing the demos at the annual convention). Not only did you provide an excellent demo and roll at least one game with Jerry Zajack of the National Card Football League, but he gave a second presentation on Canton, being that he has family ties there. He is truly one of the greats — not just in the game of APBA but the game of life.

  4. Oy, this guy Cochrane. He believes his own press clippings.

Comparing MLS to “A-ball” was where I stopped listening. Snob formed his opinion in 1996 and never revisited it. MLS isn’t a Big Five league, but A-ball is just an American snob dismissing something he can’t be bothered with.
