Ottawa’s Mark Featherstone repeats as RCMBA champion

John Briggs sent me a postseason update from the Roberto Clemente Memorial Baseball Association (RCMBA). Here’s a teaser…

If you could pick who would be in the 2021 RCMBA Championship, you couldn’t have done better than the 2020 champ, Ottawa defending it’s crown against the brand new RCMBA single season wins record holder, Albuquerque. That is exactly what happened. The Horsemen rolled into the finals after setting a new all- time win record of 125 plus a new home run record of 373 and the thrashing of Knob Noster 4-0 to reach the RCMBA World Series. Ottawa reached this battle by winning an impressive 119 games, hitting over 300 homers and a sweep of Laurel Highlands.

Congratulations to Mark Featherstone and his Ottawa Fat Cats on collecting their fourth RCMBA title. All within the last seven years.

Read the full story at the excellent RCMBA website. Don’t stop there, though. RCMBA has a great web presence and it’s worth taking the time for a deep dive. Stats, trades, lifetime achievements. You name it, it’s there.

Thanks for the update, John and congratulations to Mark!!

I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
