Monster Card Monday: mid-year 2025 Aaron Judge

I know it’s been a while since I have written a Monday column. I couldn’t help check out Yankees slugger Aaron Judge’s card on Steve’s APBA Card Computer.

I wasn’t disappointed.

Through 64 of the Yankees’ games so far, Judge has played in them all and leads the majors in batting (.396), slugging (.771) and OBP (.493).

Features of this (albeit unofficial) card include power numbers 1-1-0-0-0-0 and a 25-7. Plus, he has four 14s. I don’t know if this is a glitch of the system but he also has both a 32-13 and a 52-13. Even stranger, Judge has a 14-40 which I have never seen on an official card before.

Forcing a one-column card

I wouldn’t blame you if would prefer a single column card for a hitter like Aaron Judge, though. Fortunately, Steve’s APBA Card Computer allows you to ‘Force One Column’. Doing that gives us a slightly different card. His power numbers are 1-1-5-5-6 but he does have a 51-7.

Why the 51-7? His five 11s in the second column are converted to a 15-10. Since the 10 has a slightly lower hit value, the 7 is added in lieu of one of the 8s.

Regardless, it’s a fun card and those who have Aaron Judge on their league (I know one!) have to be happy so far!
