2008 APBA Card Error: Willie Bloomquist

The correct Willie Bloomquist card

With every APBA card set, us APBA fans find anomalies and strangeness and wonder, “Will APBA correct this on their error list?”.
So far with the 2008 baseball card set, APBA hasn’t corrected any cards with the exception of one… Seattle Mariner Willie Bloomquist.
The official message from the APBA [...]

I GOT THE NEW CARDS!!!

This was the best day ever!!!  “I GOT THE NEW CARDS!”, used to generate excitement.  NOTE: I’ve included utility man Chris Burke’s card as proof, nobody, to my knowledge, has posted his, who cares, card.  I remember getting together with friends, for an extended lunch at a local restaurant, to look at the new cards.  [...]

APBA Card of the Week: Pujols’ 2008 card

Albert Pujols’ new 2008 card (based on the disk)

All I can say is yippie!
Yes, the double ones, yes, the 55-7, yes, the 44-0 but what I like are the decent numbers on the “automatic” numbers;  the 21-37, the 26-41 and the 46-22.  I will enjoy those immensely in the coming year.
The [...]

That dang 12

Just a real quick note on the 12.  It seems to be on the 24 this year.  Which, I guess is not too bad a place for it.  It’s better than a “good” number like 64 or worse, 42.  And at least it’s not on an automatic number like 65 or I don’t know… 29.  [...]

2008 APBA Cards: Who got a gift and who got shafted?

This is a precarious time for APBA baseball fans.  On the APBA forums, precious few have the magic information (card ratings) we all crave.  There is little else we all gain from this info other than curiosity since we will all see these cards at some point soon.  That doesn’t prevent us (me included) from [...]

Between the Lines is abuzz with card info

There’s lots of good 2008 card numbers coming out of the Between the Lines forum (well, good may be a relative term.  I guess it depends on who you have on your team).
if you want a sneak preview on the 2008 season cards, check out this thread.

Haha, I wonder how many people will pinch [...]

The APBA Pitching grades in excel format

Just to make it easier for me to digest, I imported the pitching grades that Bruce Norlander posted to Between the Lines into Excel.  Makes it easier to sort and filter by grades, teams etc.
Here is the file if you want it.
Keep in mind that while most are listed, not all pitchers are [...]

And here are the NL 2008 APBA pitching grades that just came out.
Again, no time yet to really look them through but Edison Volquez gets a 16!
thanks to Bruce Norlander for assembling the grades and posting them on Between the Lines

I haven’t had time to look at them too closely but Joey Devine a 29*??  Wow?!
