I also like it for continuity - we dont have players playing a few years, then dropping out of the league for multiple years, and then popping back up. BTW, one other note about draft eligibility: non-rookies who didn't meet the draft eligibility requirements for previous years are elligible - that's who Edinson Volquez made it into this year's draft.

"we are forced to draft for need a lot more than most other leagues (this is intentional, as it keeps the power level of the league lower than some others"

I've noticed this too, Rob. Some would say we're masochistic, :)

But I kind of like it. it forces us to make do with what we have.

Ellsbury is a good pick. The one thing I notice about our draft as opposed to most others is that since we only have 26 man rosters and can only drop players who fall below the eligibility limits , we are forced to draft for need a lot more than most other leagues (this is intentional, as it keeps the power level of the league lower than some others). This is why I was lucky enough to be able to wait for Chris Davis to fall to me in the 4th round. When I took him I was thinking of him as being more useful for the future than this year, but I'm starting to realize that he'll help me out a lot this year, backing up Beltre and Berkman. The at-bats Robb Quinlan would have gotten will go to Davis, although the difference is that many of the innings Tavarez will have to pitch could have gone to an A reliever.
