APBA’s Black Friday sale: What did YOU get?

So what did you all get during the APBA Company’s Black Friday Sale?  Tom Zuppa has a running thread on Facebook with quite a lot of responses already.

apba_2272_8796533Me?  I was with family over the holiday.  While my wife and daughter were shopping at the brick-and-mortar stores, I simply used my phone to place an order for the only purchase I made Friday.  Geoff Giordano will be happy to hear that I took the plunge and ordered the APBA Football Game

For now, I just ordered the Football Game.  It does come with four teams (2013 Denver, Seattle, Florida State and Auburn).  That should be enough to give it a test ride.  If I enjoy it, I expect to be placing an order for some past teams ranging from the late 60s to the mid 80s.

Time for me to re-watch Geoff’s unpackaging video of the game on YouTube again.

Did anyone else take advantage of the 25% discount on Friday??

Thomas Nelshoppen

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as the BBW Boys of Summer APBA League since 2014. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

5 Comments:

  1. 1964 Baseball. Yankees win their last pennant with Mantle, White Sox (my team then) finish only one game out, the Phillies collapse and the Cards win in a wild pennant race. Also, 1964 was the first World Series that I remember as a kid.

  2. I bought the updated APBA football game as well, as I wanted the 2013 Broncos and 2013 Seahawks were both of these franchises all time strongest teams based on Margin of Victory. I cannot see nyself spending $95 to get a modern football season for teh couple of teams that I really want. they really need to come up with a football version of the GTOP like they did years ago.

  3. I got the 1964 & 2000 Baseball and 1950-51 Hockey sets. I wanted an early Gordie Howe season for Hockey and Halberstam’s book about 1964 is one of my favorites. The 2000 originals cards are the colored version and I wanted the more traditional cards. I expect lots of fun!
