With a 0.78 ERA, there was no doubt Oakland All-Star reliever Blake M. Treinen was going to have an ‘A&something’ card. While he is no Ed Walsh, Blake Treinen (9-2, 38 saves) still received a Master Game grade of 26 which translates to a deserved Basic Game grade of A&B*.

In addition to the A&B*/26* grade, Treinen receives an XY rating for 100 strikeouts in 80 1/3 innings. He also garners a Z for letting up just 21 walks.
Among his Master Game symbols, Treinen’s ‘H’ stands out. He only gave up two home runs all year. The H rating (which is in effect in the MG and in APBA Baseball for Windows) turns a few home runs into singles doubles (thanks to Lance and Walt for pointing out my error!).
And something of a curiosity… Blake Treinen who hadn’t batted or run the basepaths in 2018, is rated a S runner.
I’m sure those who benefit from his arm will overlook that minor chink the armor.
Homers get turned into doubles, actually. But his MG grade will turn some EBHs into singles for sure.
